Shane Decker
Shane Decker, president of Ex-Sell-Ence, Shane Decker Sales Academy, has a calling - helping salespeople achieve "ex-sell-ence".

He discovered the truths, he now shares, at an early age when he took a job at a jewelry store in Garden City, Kansas. "Only one person in 10 has ever held a 1-carat diamond," Shane says. "So you show it to them and let them hold it; it makes them feel privileged."

With the fervor of a televangelist, Shane teaches retailers the anatomy of a sale, how to handle objections, closing skills, the art of the turnover, to recognize sales profiles and much more.

Shane's sales secrets have been published in numerous trade publications. He has provided much sought-after sales training for more than 3,000 stores worldwide.


Arthur Skuratowicz
Arthur Anton Skuratowicz, a third generation jeweler, has been a jeweler/gemologist since 1980 and is a Graduate Jeweler Gemologist (GIA), Independent Certified Gemologist Appraiser with the AGS as well as a Senior Member of the NAJA. Arthur was the first instructor at the Gemological Institute of America to teach both Gemology and Jewelry Manufacturing Arts. He did this for nearly 8 years, with an additional 7 years as an independent contract at GIA New York.

Apprenticing at an early age with his family business, he studied jewelry and gemology under his father, a GIA graduate himself, and grandfather, a jeweler and watchmaker trained in Europe. Arthur would later incorporate his personal experiences with formal training to offer a down to earth yet technical approach to retail jewelry, gemology and jewelry manufacturing.

Along with his wife Julie Nash, Arthur is co-author of the book "Working With Gemstones: A Bench Jeweler's Guide."
